It was our pleasure and honor to photography Andrew and David’s wedding. Certainly, it was important that theirs is the first same-sex wedding to be celebrated at the Episcopal Cathedral in Denver, as their celebrants so eloquently talked about- history and traditions matter. I can’t tell you how happy we are that these two were able to have their friends and family (who are often the same people!) present for a wedding ceremony that also honored their faith and heritage.
But, Andrew and David’s wedding is so much more than just a first for the city of Denver. The love these two share is amazing and uplifting. They’ve established a beautiful home. Through their generosity and hospitality they’ve brought together a community that loves the snot out of them right back. I’ve rarely seen a couple honored by a standing ovation during their toasts- but their friends nearly jumped to their feet.
After the ceremony, Andrew will not take his ring off ever again- wouldn’t even slip it down a bit for pictures. This is just one of the reasons I spent the day fighting tears long enough to take more photographs. They are amazing, folks, I tell you. Amazing.
(Special thank you also to Sarah Fischer who helped with detail shots of Andrew and David’s amazing reception over at the Ritz!)
