The thing about going to take pictures in the back alleys of Pearl St. is that you never really know what you’re going to find. Samantha, Dan and I had tried to take their pictures once before, but due to a torrential downpour (I-25 was an aquarium!) and the Bolder Boulder, we ended up postponing. It’s probably better that we waited anyhow; we had a great shoot on a lovely day, and Dan and Samantha were relaxed and up for anything.
We found some of the stranger aspects of Boulder alleys that day that we wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. Including socks. Nasty socks. Nasty socks that were somehow cemented to a wall in a tiny, random alley that looked like it was built for a Hollywood set. We figure it was some kind of performance art. We also found an abandoned couch and an older gentleman with his pants duct taped to his legs in several places who discussed with us the merits of the fashion photography aspect of shooting on said couch. Like I said, you never know, but days like this are certainly one of the reasons I love my job!
