  • Welcome to Kokoro Photography!

Your dreams.  Your love.  Your family and friends.  Your special day.  We know you want your wedding to be picture-perfect — and telling the story of your wedding is far more than just pointing the camera, focusing the lens and pushing the shutter.  Capturing the “right” moments starts with our relationship with you —  knowing your hopes, your feelings, and maybe even a few of your fears means we will capture and tell your unique and beautiful story...  Your love story.

Many people ask us what “Kokoro” means.  It is the Japanese word for “heart, spirit or soul”, and it’s a word inspired by Amanda’s experience teaching in the Japanese school system after graduating from college.  Both of us, Debi and Amanda, are passionate about the photography profession — and the word “Kokoro” clearly reflects our passion to reveal your heart, your spirit, your soul in each image we capture for you.

Kokoro:  Heart.  Spirit.  Soul.  We are committed to revealing it within you.

We hope you'll visit us often and please.... leave lots of comments! We love to hear from you.

Erik and Emily are in The Knot!

In August 2007 Amanda had the good fortune to photograph the very beautiful wedding of Emily Cooper and Erik Whaley at their friends home in Greenwood Village. Emily had every little detail covered so perfectly — from the escort cards to the cake (In fact, Amanda loved the cake so much she had it copied in different colors for her own wedding!)

When The Knot sent out their request for photos there was no doubt in our mind who’s wedding photos we would send them. The Knot is all about the details when they are choosing a wedding for a magazine layout, so it came as no surprise to us when we received the news that Emily and Erik’s wedding was being published. Emily and Erik are such a wonderful couple (you must read how he proposed) that having their wedding published will be a wonderful keepsake of their special day. See The Knot Slideshow with more photos of Emily and Erik’s Wedding.

What from your wedding day would you like to see in The Knot?
