Carla and Wes – Wild Basin Lodge Wedding

We adore Carla. She’s cute, funny, beautiful and was the perfect bride. Nothing stopped her – not the heat, not a massive number of biting bugs or really cold  stream water. Wes (bless him!) willingly when along with everything we asked him -  even when we knew he’d rather have been having a nice cold drink with his friends. (Thank You Wes!) Together they are a perfect couple.

Carla didn’t miss a single detail from the hanger with her “Mrs.” name as part of the frame to a charm she added to her bouquet. Everything was well planned and coordinated through the day.  The Wild Basin Lodge was a stunning setting for the wedding. Friends and family from out of town had a spectacular view of the Colorado mountains during the ceremony. Afterward, everyone retreated to the lodge for a delicious family style dinner and an evening of dancing. All day family and friend surrounded the couple with love and best wishes for a wonderful future together.

Check out: The hanger Carla ordered for her dress, the steins Carla and Wes gave as gifts, and Carla’s  fabulous blue shoes!

Beautiful Boudoir Swimsuit Session – Part 1

Lisa’s Boudoir Part 1

Lisa’s boudoir session was in 3 parts. Part 1 in a swimsuit, Part 2 in a dress and Part 3 in a corset. She wanted some outdoor photos but wasn’t comfortable posing around the yard in her corset – understandable! The swimsuit was the perfect answer. It’s sexy (and with the leather boots even sexier) but nothing the neighbors would be gossiping about over dinner. W

Look for Part 2 of Lisa’s boudoir session coming soon!

It’s not too early to start thinking about holiday gifts for that special person in your life.

Mike & Amy’s Beautiful Boulder Wedding

Amy and her mother knew exactly what they wanted for Amy’s wedding – it needed to be personal, it needed to be held in a very special place and everyone was to enjoy themselves. That is exactly how Amy and Mike’s wedding went. Amy has great a love for plants and animals – we covered the animals during their engagement session with Amy and Mike’s Hairless Rex cat named Mr. Mewton and the horse rescue facility Amy volunteers with. Now it was time to incorporate her love for plants into their wedding. Over the winter Amy had been lovingly growing flowers in the greenhouse at her parents place. Flowers that would become part of the ceremony location in her mom and dad’s backyard. Now… often when we’re told someone is having a backyard wedding we kind of cringe. Visions of swing sets and trash cans flash before our eyes. But Amy’s parents have the most amazingly beautiful place. Lush with plants I didn’t know you could grow in Colorado. Amy’s winter gardening paid off adding brilliant accents of color to the ceremony.

To make sure everyone enjoyed the day, Amy’s sister came all they way from Australia to sing for her sister and new brother-in-law, which was such a touching moment for their parents. Hand painted umbrellas were provided to keep everyone comfortable in the warm Colorado sun. But the best idea by far…. a barefoot bride and bridesmaids! No one killing themselves in heels – completely brilliant! After the ceremony everyone headed over to the Hotel Boulderado for a lovely dinner and an evening to remember.

Sarah and Matt – An Old Fashion Engagement Photos at Cheeseman Park

I met Sarah when she was a middle school student taking part in the Destination ImagiNation program. She was one of the most creative, self confident and determined kids. So it was no surprise when Sarah and Matt wanted to do something very different for their engagement photos. They headed off to a costume warehouse and after some looking around decided on costumes from the 1900′s. Now don’t for a moment think these two are just a couple of silly kids…. Matt is studying to be a doctor and Sarah started veterinary school at CSU this month – they just know how to have fun!  These future doctors will be married over Labor Day weekend at Hudson Gardens in Littleton and we can’t begin to tell you how excited we are to be photographing this very special day.

Don’t you love that hat…. Fruit and peacock feathers! Did women really wear this?

Sarah had a moment of boredom and painted the dogs toenails. He didn’t seem a bit embarrassed at all and it matched his collar.

We borrowed the front porch of a family for these photos. They didn’t seem too shocked but kept peeking around the corner of an upstairs deck to watch.

Jennifer and John – Wings Over the Rockies Wedding

Everyone should be so relaxed on their wedding day. Jen and John were so happy to be getting married that every little thing was a joy or a moment to remember for them. The ceremony was at a little historic chapel in the old Lowery Air Force Base area. A beautiful white church with a tall white steeple that looked like something right out of a storybook.

A few days before the wedding Jen arranged for us to get into the Wings Over the Rockies building so we could spend time getting shots of her dress and important details. It was so nice to be able to spend time taking shots of her shoes and jewelry without rushing. We played with the planes and the things in the museum while setting up shots of shoes! The volunteers at the museum made suggestions and drug out a couple items we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. It was great.

Love the rings – They used their fingerprints for the design on the outside of the bands.

Back to the wedding!

Jen and John opted to see each other before the wedding so we could take care of family formals ahead of time. This allowed everyone to head to the reception right after the ceremony so the party could begin.

The stunning floral arrangements are from Arthur at Babylon Floral. We are always excited to work with Arthur… his arrangements always amaze us.

We chose to walk to the Wings Over the Rockies hanger to take advantage of the flowers and architecture of the area for photos of John and Jen.

We found some great locations for fun and VERY original photos.

I couldn’t tell you who this dance meant more to – Jen or her grandfather. It was only a brief dance but it was so very, very touching.

It was such a beautiful evening – much thanks to the following people:
