Nicki and Chase – Belhurst Castle in Geneva, New York

There are several things that are great about doing wedding photography as a job – besides being offered cake and champagne at work! Sometimes you get to travel to fun new places to photograph weddings. Another is that occasionally you photograph the wedding of someone you’ve know since they were just a skinny little kid.

In high school my son Parker met his friend Chase. They did the things all high school boys do – proms, parties, football games, girlfriends and I’m sure many things I will never know about. After graduation Chase ended up going off to become an air traffic controller and while at school met Nicki. Nicki is about as sweet as can be and great in an emergency situations involving blood and quick thinking. For awhile Parker, Chase and Nicki shared an apartment – which is how we know Nicki can handle emergencies! In elementary school Parker was known as “911 Tipton” he put poor Nicki to the test one evening.

We knew it was only a matter of time before Chase would ask Nicki to marry him. The two are perfect for each other.

This July Nicki and Chase said “I do” at the beautiful Belhurst Castle in Geneva, New York. There was a BBQ get together, parties, boat outings, wine tastings and lots of family. Everyone was so gracious and welcoming, happy for Nicki and Chase and their future together.

Belhurst Castle is beautiful. The grounds look out over Seneca Lake and was once a speakeasy. There is a working wine tap on the second floor for the guest.

A manicure and pedicure for all the ladies.

Every guest was given a bottle of either white or red wine made by Chase to commemorate their wedding.

Proud mom moment – isn’t Parker handsome in a tux!

The ring bearers mom said “make sure he smiles REALLY BIG”……. so they all did!

Alyssa and Brett – Trinity United Methodist & The Brown Palace Hotel

Every so often we have a couple that we connect with right away. During our first meeting I knew this would be a fun yet down to earth pair and we’d love spending time with them. They are so relaxed about life and things to come that’s it’s infectious – you just can’t help but want to enjoy life right along with them!

Alyssa and Brett choose Trinity United Methodist Church, their home church, for the ceremony. It’s such a beautiful building, built in 1888, it was originally the largest sanctuary-concert hall-meeting facility in Denver. A stunning pipe organ backs the entire wall of the sanctuary and the stain glass windows are gorgeous. Add massive flower arrangements from The Perfect Petal that you could smell before you entered the sanctuary and the setting for their ceremony was perfect!

After the ceremony guest walked across the street to The Brown Palace for an evening to remember. Alyssa’s dream was that the room should look old Hollywood. Her dream came true and the The Perfect Petal decorated tables to perfection. After Alyssa changed into a second dress, the evening festivities began with a choreographed dance from the couple.

Good Luck in South Carolina Alyssa and Brett!

Deena and Brian – Engagement Session in Boulder

Deena and Brian realized it was true love when they discovered their mutual fondness for homemade ice cream. So when it came time to do their engagement session we knew ice cream would have to be included! We met Deena and Brian for an impromptu picnic at a secluded little spot in Boulder. While we love the Flatirons it’s nearly impossible any more to get shots without a hiker wondering through the background, so we were thrilled to have them show us another wonderful mountain view location. After we finished up there we headed over to the Pearl Street Mall to a wonderful little shop that makes their own ice cream!
