Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day to everyone. Crazy rain here in Colorado – I feel like we’ve moved to Oregon. Hardly the ideal warm beginning of summer we look forward to. We went to the movies to see Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, which was very cute. Bob did some BBQing in the pouring rain because it’s some unwritten rule that you must BBQ on Memorial Day and soon we’ll be watching the Nuggets whip the Lakers. :-)

Go Nuggets!

Post-Engagement Session in Boulder Colorado

What do you do when you absolutely hate the way your engagement photos turned out? Have them redone – even if it’s after your wedding! Katie and Bart really disliked their original photographers work “way to much photoshop” was the description they gave us. Katie had seen photos we’d done for a blog acquaintance a couple years ago and loved them. She decide that if they were ever in Denver she wanted photos with us to replace the original engagement photos. Last week when they were in town they booked a session with us to do a post-engagement photos in Boulder. Lucky for us!

Katie and Bart are a wonderful couple and so willing to do anything we asked them. Katie even added some of her own spice to the session ;-) We had such a good time with them and hope these will make up for the last engagement photos.

Good luck to you two in Seattle. It was a joy meeting you!

Julie and Troy – Terrace Garden’s at Ken Caryl

Julie and Troy are such genuine and loving couple, it was such a pleasure to be at their wedding. March 25 at the Terrace Garden’s at Ken Caryl, Julie and Troy exchanged vows in front of their friends and family. The weather was drizzly and gray but inside everyone was warm and cheery – including the wonderful women setting up the tables who referred to themselves as the “hot mommas.” This was no ordinary group but one made up of a lot of people who’d made parachute jumps. Braver souls than I am!

Julie and Troy decided to see each other before their ceremony so they could get the formals taken care of early and devote their time to their guest after the ceremony. This was the moment before Troy saw Julie in her dress.

Julie and her mother – Julie’s mom read the most touching and beautiful letter to Julie and Troy during the ceremony. It was clearly written from her heart and with so much love for them.

They invited everyone who had made a parachute jump to join them for a photo. We were expecting 20 or so guests but it was more like 40 plus!

Keeping with the theme — everyone signed a jump log.

Happy Mother’s Day

I’ve fallen behind on our blog but before I add anything else I just wanted to say Happy Mother’s Day to my mom, Joan. We just returned from California where we celebrated my aunt’s 80th birthday. It was quite the event. Before we left my mother had to spend some time at the beach. We use to live in SoCal, the one thing we miss the most living in Colorado is the ocean. Chatfield reservoir just doesn’t cut it!

I’ll blog more later about Julie and Troy’s Wedding and the 80th birthday party later – right now – Happy Mother’s Day mom!
