Ten Mile Station, Breckenridge Colorado – Jennifer and Michael

Ten Mile Station in Breckenridge is one of those hidden jewels in Colorado. At 10,234 feet up the mountain the view is spectacular, the sky is so blue and even in September the flowers were in bloom. We were so excited to be photographing Jennifer and Michael’s wedding in such a beautiful setting. We met them at their hotel in Breckenridge where Amanda went off with the ladies to the venue. Meanwhile, I headed to downtown Breckenridge with the guys to do some shots of the groom and groomsmen. Jennifer and Michael planned extra time into the schedule so we could get some really fun shots of the wedding party.

Their wedding was beautiful. Letters written to each other were read during the ceremony that brought tears and laughter to everyone — including the officiant. After hearing these moving letters I’m sure they will have a long and happy marriage. Congratulations Jennifer and Michael!

Denver Center for the Performing Arts – Carly and Christopher Engagement

Carly and Christopher met us at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DPCA) to do their photo shoot last October. Maybe I’m a bit partial to redheads….. but these two are great! They are fun, adventurous and willing to do anything we asked of them to. We started at “The Corner Office” in the Curtis Hotel. They have a colorful, funky decor that gives us great backdrops. (BTW, their lobster mac and cheese is awesome!) From there we headed over to the DCPA for the remainder of their photos. I think maybe the photo in front of the dancing people (aliens?) is my favorite or maybe it’s the one in front of the All Together Now sign. Either way this couple makes every photo look great!

In March Carly and Christopher will be getting married at the EXDO Event Center. We’re so excited to be shooting there! Not only is it a great venue but Christopher’s brother owns the place, having that family connection will make their day even more special.

Alice 105.9 – Leah cooks a Turkey

Our friend Leah, a producer at Alice 105.9, cooked her first turkey on new Alice Cooks show for their web site. It’s darn funny watching Leah put her hand into the turkey to remove the innards. But if you need a quick and easy description of “How to Cook A Turkey” this a great start.

Downtown Denver – Valana and Robert’s engagement session

This time of year the lights downtown are beautiful at night. Larimer Square has their holiday lights strung up and even through the lights aren’t up at Union Station yet — it’s so colorful at night. So when Valana and Robert wanted to do an evening engagement session downtown I was excited.  We started at the bridge with this great view of downtown, then headed to the Tattered Cover for some indoor shots and to change. I’m sure this is the first time I’ve gotten out of the Tattered Cover without spending anything! The weather was still warm enough once we got to Larimer Square we stopped at Gelazzi for gelato. Some of the best in town. (Ask about the “pumpkintinis” Valana says they’re great! ) We ended the evening in front of Union Station.

Valana and Robert are so wonderful together. They’ve been dating since high school, went to college together and will be celebrating their marriage at the Botanic Gardens in May. Beautiful place, fabulous couple — sounds like the perfect beginning.

Thanks to Grace who came along with me to hold the light. I’ll have both daughters in the business before you know it!
