Last fall we got a call from a bride in San Francisco looking for someone to photographer her wedding at the Chapel in Beaver Creek. This adorable little church was frequented by President Ford when he lived there and is a favorite place of ours. It’s a stone building with a large two-story window which provides a spectacular backdrop while the couple takes their vows. After several long distance phone calls Lara and Kevin booked us for their wedding. We were thrilled!
Fast forward to last week – Lara and Kevin are finally here and would like to meet us before the wedding. While on the phone to make arrangements for that evening we discover that Lara’s parents live about a minute from my house and she and Amanda graduated a year apart from the same high school. What a small world!
Lara is one of those people who shines, you can’t help but be happy when she’s around. She was also one of the most relaxed brides we’ve ever work with. Always a blessing. Kevin is perfect – also perfectly relaxed, perfectly good looking, perfect for Lara. It was obvious Lara and Kevin are very much in love.
The front door to the chapel is a beautiful bronze tree. The perfect place to hang Lara’s wedding dress.
Lara had so many good friend to be with her. Each one was only interested in making sure Lara and Kevin had a very special day.
She shines!
Kevin, the very handsome groom.
Lara’s one request was to get a photo from the balcony of her walking with her father down the aisle.
With a lot of cooperation, we were able to get all of Lara and Kevin’s guests on the front steps for a photo. Thank heavens the weather was beautiful!
There’s a fun little bar in one of the Beaver Creek hotels so we headed over there for a few photos of just Lara and Kevin. We love it when our couples are willing to try things that are non-traditional. Lara and Kevin will have some very fun and different shots for their album!
I had to get a shot of Lara twirling in her dress. She was so excited with how it would spin!
I’ve never seen an ice sculpture like this — the bar tender poured the martini through the sculpture to chill it before drinking.
